Saint Paul Established 1890

Saint Paul United Methodist Church was established in 1890 and was originally known as Greenville Methodist Church.
The original location was Green Avenue on the west side of town.
Reverend R. H. Jones was the first minister and was assigned to Saint Paul in 1891.

Relocation

In the year 1899, property was purchased on Pendleton Street; and this property became the permanent location of Saint Paul United Methodist Church.

Growing the United Methodist Church

Since its beginning, Saint Paul United Methodist Church has aided in the forming of other Methodist Churches in the Greenville area. In addition to this accomplishment, Saint Paul, through its spiritual influence, has led many of its people into full-time Christian service.

New Address, Same Location

In recent years Main Street was extended to the portion of Pendleton Street where Saint Paul resides.  The current address is S. Main Street in the West End of Greenville.

Today, Saint Paul United Methodist Church is a shining beacon to God and community.
